Chemical herbicides such as glyphosate are currently the subject of heated debate. As a result, alternative methods, such as ecological mechanical tillage for special crops, are increasingly coming into focus. However, this takes up more time for the farmer overall. This is because it has to be carried out more often. In addition, the driving speed is not as high as for the application of herbicides, as the driver previously had to manually align the implements with the crop. The Vineyard Pilot Assistant (VPA control) from Braun Maschinenbau relieves the driver and helps compensate for these disadvantages.
To do this, the intelligent system automatically guides the working tools optimally to the crop. The operator concentrates only on steering the tractor. An ingenious system automatically adjusts the width and height of the tools in the inter-axle area as well as the width of the mulcher. The anticipatory sensor detection and finely tuned hydraulics of the Vineyard Pilot Assistant work with high precision even at high speeds and deliver optimum work results.
Realized added value
The VPA control makes it possible to double the working speed for certain tool combinations. This is achieved by automatically and optimally guiding the tools towards the crop.
A further consequence is the optimization of the work result. The weed pressure is reduced in the long run by removing more weeds. Therefore, the measure can be carried out at longer intervals.
Work processes can be documented directly and automatically. Thus, they are also visible in real time for the coordination of the subsequent work steps.
