Implement Automation Vineyard Pilot Assistant (VPA-Control)

Chemical herbicides such as glyphosate are currently the subject of heated debate. Therefore, alternative methods, such as ecological mechanical soil cultivation in the special crop sector, are increasingly coming into focus. However, this takes up more time for the farmer. This is because it has to be carried out more frequently. In addition, the driving speed is not as high as with the application of herbicides, since the attachments had to be manually aligned to the stick by the driver until now.

Kick-Off for the ATLAS project

Modern agriculture is becoming more and more data driven. Although a multitude of technical solutions already exist, the lack of interoperability demands a careful choice of machines, sensors and data processing platforms and hinders the adaption of these systems to the individual farmer’s specific needs. Τhe Horizon 2020 project “ATLAS” aspires to overcome these constraints and its overall objective is the development of an open digital service platform for agricultural applications and to build up a sustainable ecosystem for innovative data-driven agriculture.

VDI Conference “Sensors for Mobile Machines 2019”

The 3rd VDI Conference “Sensors for Mobile Machines” will take place at the Maritim Hotel Ulm on 04. and 05. December. Also the specialists of the Robot Makers GmbH will be represented with an interesting lecture on the podium. Under the title “Fusion of local and global sensor technology for autonomous navigation”, Dr. Jochen Hirth and Max Reichardt will explain various backgrounds of sensor data fusion. Among other things, the concept and the functionality of an efficient sensor data abstraction, fusion and representation are in the foreground. This will be illustrated by application examples from the field of autonomous mowing and autonomous work in row crops.
