4. CVT-Symposium: Trends of the commercial vehicle industry

Last week we participated in the 4th Commercial Vehicle Symposium 2016 at the University of Kaiserslautern. At this three-day fair – beginning at the 8th of march – the most important producers and component suppliers of the commercial vehicle industry introduced the newest trends and technologies. In addition, the visitors were able to listen to a great number of speeches and presentations providing information about the latest state of technology and the future development.

At our fair booth we displayed the Generic Control Box – Ruggedized as well as the real time capable hydraulic control Modular Control System – Hydraulic Controller. Both products were able to convince the visitors with remarkable performance data and robust case technology. Furthermore, we demonstrated the capabilities of the Robot Makers Softwareplatform in a live simulation that showed the autonomous crossing of an orchard. We were glad to see familiar faces as well as to make new acquaintances at our stand.

Besides our fair booth we took part at the conference where we gave a lecture about environmental sensing with multiple sensor systems. The lecture had the title „Sensor data representation – A framework for processing, combining, and visualizing information from various sensor systems“. With this lecture Dr. Jochen Hirth (head of development) presented an approach that improves the data fusion of multiple sensor systems as well as the following visualization by means of different graphic renditions.
