Now it is official – Robot Makers GmbH and Braun Maschinenbau GmbH together win the Rhineland-Palatinate Innovation Award 2020 in the category “Cooperation”. The prize is awarded for the Vineyard Pilot Assistant implement automation system in combination with the RowCropPilot lane guidance system. Therefore, the renowned prize is awarded to an Intelligent Mobile Machine in the field of Smart Farming that contributes to making viticulture more ecological and sustainable in the future.
This innovative world novelty was created through close cooperation, which resulted from a first service in 2015. The intelligent system records the vines with the help of a powerful environment sensor. The Vineyard Pilot Assistant then positions the implements optimally to the plants. In addition, the RowCropPilot assist lane guidance system takes over the steering of the vehicle in the row. This significantly increases the working speed. As a result, sustainable mechanical soil cultivation becomes a real alternative to the use of chemical herbicides.
